About

Higher education is more than a career for me—it’s a calling. As a student affairs leader, I believe in fostering inclusive, student-centered environments where learning extends beyond the classroom. Whether guiding students through challenges, enhancing campus engagement, or shaping institutional strategy, my goal is to create spaces where students feel supported, challenged, and empowered.

My journey began at Indiana University, where I earned a B.A. in Political Science and Criminal Justice while actively contributing to student life, campus programming, and advocacy initiatives. During my undergraduate years, I was involved in various organizations that not only enriched my academic experience but also allowed me to connect with diverse groups of students who shared a passion for social change. Inspired by the power of education to transform lives, I pursued an M.S.Ed. in Higher Education & Student Affairs at Indiana University, where I honed my commitment to student development and leadership. This graduate program deepened my understanding of the complexities within higher education, enabling me to develop innovative strategies to support student engagement and success. Through internships and collaborative projects, I gained valuable insights into the administrative side of educational institutions, further fueling my desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students.

After Indiana University, I began my professional career at Colorado College, serving for five years as a mentor, student advocate, conduct officer, and campus life leader. During this transformative period, I had the opportunity to work closely with a diverse range of students, each with unique backgrounds and challenges, which allowed me to cultivate a deeper understanding of their needs. This experience proved invaluable as I developed my expertise in crisis management, student conduct, social justice education, and strategic program development—all anchored in care and empathy. I implemented various initiatives aimed at promoting inclusivity and fostering a sense of belonging among the student body. These experiences not only shaped my leadership philosophy: students thrive when institutions are proactive, adaptable, and deeply invested in their success, but also reinforced my commitment to advocating for equity and understanding within the academic environment. I truly believe that by creating supportive atmospheres, we empower students to excel and thrive academically and personally, helping them navigate the complexities of college life and preparing them for future challenges.

Currently, I serve as the Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Deputy Title IX Coordinator at Texas A&M University–Central Texas, where I oversee multiple areas critical to student engagement and success, including:

  • Student Conduct & Behavioral Intervention – Building a culture of integrity, accountability, and restorative practices.
  • Student & Civic Engagement – Strengthening student organizations, leadership development, and community engagement.
  • Campus Recreation – Expanding access to wellness, fitness, and outdoor programs that support student well-being.
  • New Student Programs & Orientation – Enhancing first-year experiences and retention initiatives.

I thrive at the intersection of student success, strategic planning, and institutional leadership. My journey has been defined by the commitment to fostering environments where students can achieve their fullest potential. Whether I am leading divisional assessment initiatives, shaping progressive policies, or implementing innovative student-centered programs, I bring a data-informed, equity-driven, and student-first approach to my work. This methodology is rooted in a belief that every decision made in higher education should prioritize the diverse needs of students, ensuring they have equitable access to resources and opportunities.
